EIDD archive and research centre
The Silesian Castle of Art and Enterprise in Cieszyn, one of EIDDs two member organisations in Poland, has offered to set up an EIDD archive and research center. The proposal was unanimously approved by the 33rd meeting of the EIDD Board of Directors that took place in Riga on 9 october 2010. It was also decided that the centre be named The Michal Ozmin Design for All Archive and Research Centre.
The centre will serve the entire membership of EIDD and popularise the idea of Design for All among students, designers, members of local government and entrepreneurs. Cieszyn’s border location means the centre will not only serve Poles, but also be of direct service to Czechs, Slovakians and Hungarians, while indirectly serving the great European Design for All family as a whole.
The opening ceremony will be held on the 4th December 2010, at 4.00 pm, in the Silesian Castle of Art and Enterprise in Cieszyn.
Michal Ozmin, EIDD Vice-President Finance, Pete Kercher, EIDD Ambassador, and Finn Petrén, EIDD President, will all participate in the opening of the Centre.
